Jetmore - Donald E. Rhoades, 92, passed away February 28, 2024 at Fort Dodge.
He was born May 20, 1931 in Macon, Missouri, the son of Harold Wayne and Dora Keister Rhoades. A longtime area resident, he was a Postal Carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 26 years.
Donald was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Dodge City. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 - 1956, during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.
On March 15, 1957 he married Clema Rabe in Jetmore, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include; three children, Vindy L (Bob) Couchman, Livonia, MO, Damon L. (Phyllis) Rhoades, Loveland, CO and Adena L. (Jeff) Jones, Jetmore; three sisters, Deanna Fagen, Spearville, Darla Meuting, Dodge City and Dixie Stengle Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by; his parents and a sister Donna Spreier.
Memorial graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 5th at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore with Reverend Randall Jahnke presiding. Military Honors provided by the United States Navy.
