June 30, 1976 - September 2, 2023

Jason Richard Eschbaugh passed away on September 2, 2023, at his home in Wilson at the age of 47. He was born on June 30, 1976, in Ellsworth, KS to Stephen "Steve" and Mary Jeanine (Thielen) Eschbaugh.

Jason came into this world a very happy soul. He loved sports at a very young age and couldn’t wait to be old enough to play. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1995. Throughout school he participated in baseball, football, basketball, and track; and made it to the state track meet one year. He attended Dodge City Community College and Fort Hays State University.

He worked for the family business, Eschbaugh Advertising.

Jason never knew a stranger and would sometimes catch people off-guard with his friendliness. He was a very loyal friend and a great listener when you needed one. He had a fondness for the elderly. While he could be very stubborn, he could still see other’s points of view, and you would never hear him judge anyone.

A diehard Denver Broncos fan, he was the epitome of the loyal fan whether it was a good or awful season. He also enjoyed KU basketball and taking his brother Kevin to concerts.

Jason always had great faith in God and prayed daily. As a young child he was a server for morning mass. Family was his priority and meant everything to him.

Jason is survived by his parents, Steve and Jeanine Eschbaugh of Wilson; and brothers, Scott Eschbaugh of Overland Park, KS and Kevin Eschbaugh of Kansas City, MO.

Jason was a good-hearted man who worked hard, enjoyed life and cherished his family and friends. Although he was taken from us far too soon, we know that those we enjoyed and loved, we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us. We can smile because he lived and left us with cherished memories that will live forever in our hearts. He will be remembered in love.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wilson, KS. Visitation will be on Wednesday 5-7 p.m. with a vigil and rosary service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Wilson.
