GREAT BEND – The Hays High softball team was held to just two hits and Great Bend scored in four of six innings in a 10-0 Panthers victory.
Great Bend took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
The Indians threatened in the top of the second inning but left two runners on base.
They were held to just three base runners, one single over the next four innings, while the Panthers pulled away for the 10-0 run-rule victory.
Jaylee Summers suffered the loss in the circle. She allowed seven runs, five earned, on nine hits in four innings.
Hays drops to 9-5 and will host Great Bend on Wednesday in Hays.
