🏀 Tigers women draw No. 2 seed in 2025 MIAA Women's Basketball Championship

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The sixth-ranked Fort Hays State women's basketball team will play as the No. 2 seed in next week's MIAA Basketball Championship presented by Southern Bank, announced Saturday by the conference office. The tournament will be held inside historic Municipal Auditorium in downtown Kansas City, Mo. March 5-9.

The Tigers earned the No. 2 seed after finishing second in the final MIAA KPI standings. The Tigers also finished second in the overall standings, completing the regular season 25-3 overall and 16-3 in conference action.

As the No. 2 seed, the Tigers will take on the winner of No. 7 Central Missouri and No. 10 Emporia State in the quarterfinals on Thursday (March 6) beginning at 8:15 p.m.

With a win, the Tigers' road to Sunday would continue with a semifinal matchup at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday (March 8) before the women's championship is held Sunday (March 9) at 3:30 p.m.

The Tigers have been seeded second at the MIAA Championship once, with FHSU winning the 2022 tournament as the No. 2 seed. FHSU is 22-13 all-time in the tournament, including a 3-0 record as the No. 2 seed, an 11-4 record in the quarterfinals and a 17-12 record inside Municipal Auditorium.
