SMITH CENTER—Jack T. Hunnacutt, 79, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, at Jewell County Hospital, Mankato.
Jack was born on March 2, 1943, in Reno, Nev., the son of William Curtis and Athol Marie (Booz) Hunnacutt. On Sept. 27, 1963, he married JoAnn M. Rhoades in Smith Center to this union they were blessed with three children, Tracy, Terri and Tyler.
Jack was a United States Navy veteran serving from Dec. 29, 1960, to Jan. 17, 1964, when he was honorably discharged. Jack had been an over-the-road truck driver for 40 years, retiring in 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jack is survived by his wife JoAnn Hunnacutt of Smith Center; two sons, Tracy (Wendy) Hunnacutt of Phillipsburg, Tyler (Susan) Hunnacutt of Salina; a daughter, Terri (Scott) Basom of Salina; a sister, Joann Luntsford of Kingman; three grandchildren, Brittany (Robert) Kerns of Auburn, Maine, Johnathan and Emma Hunnacutt both of Phillipsburg and one great-grandson, Gianni Kerns of Auburn, Maine.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, with Pastor Dennis Lambert officiating.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Smith Center.
Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Association and can be sent in the care of the funeral chapel.
