Chad William Lane, Jr., 68, passed away January 20, 2024, at his home in Great Bend, Kan. He was born on April 23, 1955, in Dodge City, Kan., to Chad Sr. and Roberta (Renfroe) Lane. Chad was married to Vicki (Leiker) Lane until her passing in 2001.
A resident of Great Bend for the past 13 years, Chad worked as a special education paraprofessional. He had attended church at Faith Community Church, and enjoyed hunting, playing pool, driving through the mountains in Colorado, and simply being in the company of his family, whom he cherished deeply.
Survivors include stepmother Carolyn Lane of Dodge City, Kan.; sons, Evan Lane and wife, Kayla, of Gardner, Kan., and Eric Lane of San Antonio, Tex.; brothers Joseph Lane and wife, Allison, of Lafayette, La., and Travis Lane and wife, Karen, of Aubrey, Tex.; sister, Laura DeMello and husband, Justin, of Fort Collins, Colo; sister-in-law, Edie Lane, of Lafayette, La.; and one granddaughter, Henzleigh Queen, who was very special to him. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his infant daughter, Sara Jean Lane; his parents; two brothers, Steven and Daniel Lane; and sister, Deborah Budden.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, Kan., with Reverend Valisa Meyer presiding. Memorials have been designated to Chad Lane Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
