June Marie Addison, 71, passed away July 2, 2023, at Diversicare of Larned in Larned, Kansas. She was born on June 30, 1952, at Great Bend, to Edward H. and Anna (Heath) Thackeray.

Recently coming to Larned from Eureka, Kansas, June was the IT specialist for several hospitals in the areas of St. Louis, southern California, and Eureka, Kansas.

She was a 1970 graduate from Great Bend High School, and enjoyed golf – even getting a hole in one - and bowling during her younger years.

Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Parker of Birmingham, Alabama; a grandson, Nate Parker of Birmingham, Alabama; a nephew, Edward “Ed” (Renee) Mayer of Arkansas City, Kansas; and a great-niece, Tara Lynn (Kenneth) Ellis of Larned, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edward Raymond Thackeray; a sister, Shirley A. Rockhill; and a niece, Jari Jo Williams.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Diversicare of Larned, 1114 W. 11th St., Larned, Kansas, with Reverend Kathleen Luke presiding. Inurnment will take place at 3:30 p.m. at Great Bend Cemetery, 4500 Broadway Ave., Great Bend, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to Nate Parker Education Fund, in care of the account executor, Tara Pelaccio. Memorials can be sent to Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, Kansas, 67530, for donor convenience.
