Janice Mae (Fletcher) Fredde, 77, died Monday May 2, 2022, at Parklane
Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born September 19, 1944, in
Garden CIty, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer Earl and Eva Mae (Blackwell)
Fletcher.
Janice grew up in Marienthal, Kansas, the second child born to Elmer and
Mae Fletcher. She attended elementary school at East Liberty graduating
8th grade. She went on to graduate from Leoti High School in 1962.
In 1963, Danny Lee was born followed by Barry Wayne in 1968. Janice was
a supportive rancher wife and stay at home mom before working various
jobs in Goodland, KS, Cheyenne Wells, CO, Bellville, KS, Scott City, KS,
Garden City, KS, and the state of Nebraska. She married Arthur Fredde
on November 23, 1991 in Garden City, KS. They later moved to Dighton,
KS, where she retired.
Janice enjoyed spending time with family, playing games and cards,
putting together jigsaw puzzles, and playing on her tablet. She
enjoyed collecting Betty Boop. She also had a miniature shoe and bell
collection and enjoyed collecting other miniatures as well. Janice and
Art loved camping. She attended the Bible Fellowship Church in Dighton.
She will be missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her Husband- Art of the Home, 2 Sons- Daniel (Linda)
Boswell of Dodge City, Kansas, and Barry Boswell of Cheyenne Wells,
Colorado, Sister- Patricia Ann (Jim) Snow of Bethany, Oklahoma, Brother-
Dale (Julie) Fletcher of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as well as 3 nieces
and 2 nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jeanette Taylor, and brother-in-law, Dale Taylor.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorial Contributions
are suggested to the Kidney Foundation or the Bible Fellowship Church of
Dighton, Kansas both in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
