Sherida Linn (Woofter) Shoff

We are saddened to announce the passing of Sherida Linn (Woofter) Shoff on, Friday, December 2, 2022, at the age of 72, in Denver, Colorado.

Sherida was born on March 10, 1950, in Colby, Kansa, to Dale and Gladys (Shipley) Woofter.  She graduated from Colby High School in 1968 and attended Colby Community College.  Sherida married Dennis Shoff on November 10, 1972, in Colby, Kansas, and they had three beautiful daughters.

 In her early years (1971-1977), Sherida worked at Farmers and Merchants Bank in Colby, Kansas, then provided at-home daycare in Goodland, Kansas, until her children were in school.  In October 1984, she went to work full-time at First National Bank, Goodland, Kansas.  She semi-retired from the bank in January 2022, but worked part-time until her health forced her full retirement in October 2022.

She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mom, sister, grandma and great-grandma who was always there when anyone needed her. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community.  She loved to read, watch sports, cook, and most of all spend time with family.  Some of her community engagements included Goodland Public Library Board, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Community Dress Down Day, Sherman County Community Services, and Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her mother Gladys Woofter of Hoxie, Kansas, husband Dennis Shoff of Goodland, Kansas, daughters Michelle Shoff-Douglas, Sherri (Dan) Knitig, Kristi (Cory) Franz all of Goodland, Kansas, sister Sharon Woofter-Lanning of Colby, Kansas, brothers Jay (Susan) Woofter of Colby, Kansas, Michael (Jennifer) Woofter of Colby, Kansas, Walter (Eileen) Woofter of Overland Park, Kansas, Alan (Janeece) Woofter of Imperial, Nebraska, Carl (Lee) Woofter of Colby, Kansas, brother and sister-in-laws Jim Shoff of Topeka, Kansas, Steven Shoff of Oberlin, Kansas, Chris Shoff of Webster Grove, Missouri, Debbie (Ken) Moore of Austin, Texas, Diana (Kent) Euhus of Oberlin, Kansas, Jackie (Steve) Arnitz of Webster Grove, Missouri, 9 grandchildren Brandon (Stephanie) Douglas, Amber Douglas, Tate Douglas, Jordan (Marty) Edwards, Cole (Raynie) Knitig, Chelsey Knitig, Alexis Franz, Logan Franz, and Ashlyn Franz, 5 great-grandchildren Zaiden Douglas, Isaiah Douglas, Penelope Douglas, Callum Knitig and Jacelyn Edwards as well as an aunt and uncle, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her father Dale C. Woofter, sister-in-law Donna Jo Woofter, mother-in-law Emily (Lewis Wendell) Roberts, and father-in-law James Shoff.
