LaVone Perkins, 80, died Monday, August 8, 2022, at her home in Dodge City, Kansas.
She was born on December 21, 1941, at Dodge City the daughter of James and Philomena “Minnie” (Windholz) Perkins. She was a lifetime area resident. She owned and operated “Big Nasty’s” in Dodge City and worked as a paralegal for Judge Reynolds.
LaVone loved to joke around and be onery with everyone, even if it was your very first-time meeting. She enjoyed being with her family and spending time with them.
Survivors include: 3 children, Eva Crouse and Fletcher, Kingsdown, Kansas, Winston Crouse and wife Georgia, Salinas, California and James Crouse, Concord, North Carolina; 3 sisters, Alice Moore and husband Dennis, Texas, Lorraine Trent, Dodge City, and Barbara Perkins, Dodge City; 2 brothers, Jim Perkins and wife Jeanni, Dodge City and Donnie Perkins and wife Donna, Hutchinson, Kansas; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Johnny and Loren Perkins.
Come and go celebration will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from noon to 3:00 pm at Casey’s Cowtown, Dodge City. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Friends and family may sign the register Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
