Eugenia Anne (Gilmore) Reif was born July 28, 1943 in Osborne, Kansas to Louis and Rachel Gilmore. She entered into her heavenly rest on January 20, 2024 with her family by her side. Anne started school in 1949 and graduated from Osborne High School in 1961. Anne attended the University of Kansas for 1 year. She then went to work for the Osborne County Clerk's office for 3 years. She married Al Reif on May 30, 1964 and when Al came back from VietNam, they moved to Barstow, California for 1 1/2 years while Al finished his enlistment. In the fall of 1967 they moved to Lawrence, Kansas and then to Topeka, KS. After living in Owensville, MO, they moved back to Osborne, KS. In 1976 they started their own refuse business, C & R Sanitation, where she was the bookkeeper for 37+ years.
They retired in 2011. She enjoyed painting, photography, playing guitar, playing with her grandkids, reading, listening to music, and laughing with her sisters and friends. Anne's highlight in retirement was a trip to Ireland.
She was the mainstay in raising 3 daughters: Anastasia, Allison, & Amy. She always was ready to visit her 6 grandchildren: Luke and Sam, Kelseigh and Ethan, Christopher and Katherine. She spent time with her sisters, Ardie and Dayla and they enjoyed singing with one another and laughing. She had many nieces and nephews that she was very proud of.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Louis and Rachel, and her sister, Ardie.
She is survived by her husband, Al. Sister, Dayla Schmidt, and her beloved family. Anastasia, Allison (Jack), Amy (Gregory) and her beloved grandchildren as well as a host of family and friends.
