Chris L. Angeles, 92, died Wednesday May 22, 2024 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born March 30, 1932 in Garden City; the son of Louis and Anna (Stapthououp) Angeles.
Chris was a lifelong resident of the Garden City area attending and graduation from the local schools. In his young adult life he worked on the farm alongside his father and always enjoyed farming throughout his lifetime. He then went on to begin his entrepreneurial career in the restaurant industry. Chris married Sherry L. Burgess on June 10, 1967 and together they owned and operated Chris’s Steakhouse and La Hacienda restaurants. They also enjoyed traveling, gardening, and cooking large family meals together.
Chris is survived by his loving family, whom he also loved deeply. Chris was known for giving the youngsters a hard time and joking with them when there was an opportune moment.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters- Maurine Huber, Aphrodite Linnenberger, Katie Crump, Georgia Nannarone, and brothers- Soterious Angeles and Constantine Angeles.
Visitation will take place Thursday May 30, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Friday May 31, 2024 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to the Chris Angeles Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
