Loretta Mae (Kinderknecht) Karnes

Loretta Mae (Kinderknecht) Karnes, 65, of Grainfield, Kansas passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the Sheridan County Health Complex after a short illness. Loretta was born to Virgil and Luella (Richmeier) Kinderknecht, on September 2, 1957, in WaKeeney, Kansas. She grew up in Park, Kansas with her eight siblings. She attended and graduated from Wheatland High School with the class of 1975. She met the love of her life, Roy Dean Karnes, and married him in Hoxie, Kansas on September 16, 1978. They were blessed with three children.

Loretta had the most kind, caring and selfless heart. She was always willing to help someone in need. She spent her life being around people she loved. Loretta loved being outside doing yard work and tending to her garden. She also had a soft spot in her heart for animals. She enjoyed getting together with family anytime but especially at holidays. She was a homemaker most of her life. This allowed Loretta to spend time and be around her grandchildren almost daily. Her family and grandchildren were the delight of her life. Loretta loved her family with all her heart.

Loretta is survived by her husband, Roy of Grainfield, Kansas; son, Mark Karnes of Grainfield, Kansas; daughters, Mary Glick and husband Darin of Quinter, Kansas and Becki Sporing and husband, Raven of Park, Kansas; brothers, Leon Kinderknecht and wife Tracy of Wamego, Galen Kinderknecht of Park, Kansas, Randall Kinderknecht of Park, Kansas and Eric Kinderknecht and wife Debbie of Hoxie, Kansas; sisters, Marilyn Arnold and husband Dave of Hoxie, Kansas, Glenda Heier and husband Richard, and Sheila Heim and husband Steve all of Hoxie, Kansas; grandchildren, Caden Glick, Eli Glick, Kyler Glick, Blaze Sporing, Bella Sporing and Brody Sporing; great grandchild, Makiyah Glick; and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by, her parents, Virgil, and Luella Kinderknecht; brother, Michael Kinderknecht; and infant sister Mary Ann Kinderknecht.

A Celebration of Life Service is planned for October 10, 2022, 1:00 P.M. at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie, Kansas. Following the service, Inurnment will take place in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Park, Kansas. The family suggests memorials to the Walk-A-Thon for Health serving Gove and Trego Counties.
