Evelyn Wilson

Evelyn Wilson, 87, passed away July 12, 2023, at Diversicare of Larned. She was born on March 15, 1936, at Versailles, Mo., to John J. “Jack” and Dessie (Hess) Andrew.

She married Robert Wilson on August 9, 1953, at St. John. He died February 25, 2019.

A longtime area resident, Evelyn was a dietary specialist at CKMC for many years until her retirement in 2000.

She enjoyed traveling and riding motorcycles, painting t-shirts, sewing, reading, garage sales and working on crossword puzzles.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie Wildeman and husband Paul of Hays, and Sandra Stevens of Winfield; a brother, Bill Andrew of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren, Bob Roller (Joanna), Twila Lasiter and Elizabeth Keller (Earl Lynam); and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a son-in-law, Tommy Stevens; and many siblings.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 14, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Church of Christ, 1122 Stone St., Great Bend, with Pastor John Turner presiding. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery.

Memorials have been designated to Church of Christ or Alzheimer’s Association, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
