William Albert “Willie” Relph, 66, died August 15, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born January 9, 1956, in Oberlin, KS, to Lowell and Juanita (Tally) Relph.
Willie graduated from Salina South High School in 1974 and received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Washburn University in 1978. He worked as a police officer in Garden City for 11 years and then worked in sales in both hardware and pre-fab homes. Willie was a motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed motocross racing. He also loved hunting pheasants and fishing and was a diehard Royals fan.
In 1978, Willie married Sue Hobbs and they had two children together, Eric and Emily. On December 2, 2017, he married Sherry Lynn (Hullet) Schroeder, in Hutchinson. She survives.
Also surviving are: his children, Eric Relph (Chandra) of Spirit Lake, IA, and Emily Relph (Stephine Randall) of Coffeyville; grandchildren, Ethan Relph (Alejandra), Gracie Relph, Alli Relph, Kacely Relph; great-grandchildren, Genesis Relph, Eric Relph; mother, Juanita Relph of South Hutchinson; sister, Cheri Bergmeier (Brian) of Greeley, CO; brother, Thomas Relph (Betty) of Burleson, TX; and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
