Hays USD 489 announced in a message to parents and guardians Friday afternoon that it will suspend its district-wide requirement for masks for students and staff.
Masks will continue to be required for individuals returning from isolation due to a positive COVID case.
District mitigation levels will be suspended beginning Monday as a result of guidance from the Kansas Department of Education, Department of Health and local health officials.
Close contacts will no longer be identified.
All individuals should monitor for symptoms and stay home if not feeling well.
