The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Wednesday reported 38 new COVID-19 cases had been identified in Ellis County from Aug. 6 to 12.

Nearly the entire state is now in the high-incidence classification (see map below). In northwest Kansas, Rush, Ness, Graham, Sheridan and Rawlins counties were in low, moderate or substantial incidence categories.

Since reporting began, there have been 7,604 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 79 coronavirus-related deaths as of April 1. KDHE has also discontinued county-by-county death totals.
