The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Wednesday reported 16 new COVID-19 cases in Ellis County had been identified since Monday.
As of Wednesday morning, there were 14 COVID-19 inpatients at HaysMed, including two active cases and 12 recovering cases.

The Kansas Hospital Organization reported last week that 54 percent of eligible Ellis County residents (5 and older) are fully vaccinated.
Since reporting began, there have been 7,056 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 79 coronavirus-related deaths.
