The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Wednesday reported 54 new COVID-19 cases had been identified in Ellis County from Aug. 13 to 19.

Nearly the entire state remains in the high- or substantial-incidence classification (see map below). In northwest Kansas, only Cheyenne, Sheridan and Wallace counties were in the low- to moderate-incidence categories.

Since reporting began, there have been 7,658 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 79 coronavirus-related deaths as of April 1. KDHE has also discontinued county-by-county death totals.
