The Hays 2024 Oktoberfest kicked off this morning with opening ceremonies and the tapping of the keg.
The event will close at 7 tonight and reopen at 11:45 a.m. Saturday after the Fort Hays State University Homecoming parade at 11 a.m. on Main Street.
Event-goers can enjoy a variety of foods, including German favorites such as bierocks, brats and kuchen, as well as choices from other food booths and trucks.
A beer garden is open both days, and FHSU and community groups are selling food and other items as fundraisers.
