ELLIS — Ellis USD 388 superintendent Corey Burton has been selected as a finalist for the open Superintendent position at Smokey Valley schools USD 400 in Lindsborg.
The announcement was made on the USD 400 Facebook page Wednesday.
Burton has served the Ellis school district since 2006, first as principal of the junior/senior high school and as superintendent since 2019.
Burton interviewed and toured the schools Wednesday, according to the announcement.
Ryan Jilka, assistant superintendent of human resources at USD 265 Goddard; Monte Couchman, USD 400 director of student learning; and Deena Hilbig, USD 305 Salina elementary school principal, also have been announced as finalists for the position, the district said.
