The Point of Light is the highest recognition given by Thomas More Prep-Marian to honor significant individuals who have given time, talent, or resources through dedicated service to the school. Recipients of the Point of Light award show commitment to our tradition of excellence, are involved in activities that bring honor to the inductee and to TMP-Marian and have a heart for service.
Inductees are nominated by the TMP-Marian community and voted on by a variety of individuals representing the school administration, staff, alumni, religious, and community for a diversified selection committee.
TMP-Marian is honored to announce the following 2024 Point of Light Inductees:
Tim & Sandee Werth
Faithful Friends and Loyal Alumnus
Tim and Sandee Werth are being honored for their extraordinary support of TMP-Marian throughout the years. Tim Werth, a 1988 graduate of Thomas More Prep-Marian and earning a finance degree from Emporia State University in 1992, is the founding partner of Werth Wealth Management and has been recognized nationally by Barron’s and Forbes. He has served on numerous boards, including the TMP-M Endowment Board and the Salina Diocese Finance Council. Tim played a key role in combining the middle school with the high school and starting the Saint Thomas More Society. Sandee Werth, a 1985 graduate of Victoria High School, earned her degree in elementary education from Fort Hays State University. She taught at St. Joseph’s and Holy Family Elementary, served on the Holy Family Elementary Advisory Council, and is a founding member of Women Who Lead. Together, Tim and Sandee have two sons, Collin and Tanner, both of whom attended Catholic schools. They have been generous supporters of Catholic education and their community, serving as co-chairs for the TMP-MHS Ace Auction and contributing their time and resources to their church and beyond.

Nolan & Geralyn Allen
Dedicated Friends and Supporters
Nolan and Geralyn Allen have been dedicated supporters of TMP-Marian and the Hays community. Nolan, born in Brewster, KS, served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1973-1977 and spent 35 years as a diesel mechanic, retiring from I-70 Truck Repair in 2021. Geralyn, raised near Grainfield, KS, earned a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from FHSU in 1981 and worked at FHSU until her retirement in 2019. Married in 1981, they raised four children, all graduates of TMP-M: Matthew - 2001, Daniel - 2003, Sara - 2006, and Andrew - 2010. The Allens actively supported their children’s education, sports, and fine arts activities, from volunteering at events to participating in the Fine Arts Booster Club and the ACE Auction. They have also been devoted members of St. Nicholas of Myra Parish since 1983, where they serve in various ministries, including Eucharistic Ministry, music ministry, and delivering Meals on Wheels. Their dedication to both TMP-M and the community has left a lasting impact.

Brother Mark Schenk O.F.M Cap.
Dedicated Alumnus and Faithful Friar
Brother Mark Schenk was born on May 12, 1957, in Olmitz, Kansas, within the Diocese of Dodge City. He was baptized at St. Ann’s Parish, Olmitz, on May 19, 1957, and confirmed on April 4, 1965. His lifelong commitment to faith led him to join the Capuchin Order, where he made his first profession in Victoria, Kansas, on August 18, 1980, and final profession on August 16, 1983. A 1975 graduate of Thomas More Prep, Brother Mark's dedication to service extended across the globe. He taught at Thomas More Prep-Marian from 1984 to 1988, serving as a campus minister and faculty member. His devotion to his vocation saw him take on numerous roles within the Capuchin Order, including General Definitor and Provincial Minister. His travels and service reached far beyond the United States, impacting communities across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Pacific. Brother Mark’s life has been one of unwavering commitment to faith, education, and global service, making an indelible mark on the church, the school, and the wider Capuchin community. We recognize and honor his extraordinary contributions and dedication.
