The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Wednesday reported seven new COVID-19 cases had been identified in Ellis County from May 21 to May 27.
KDHE now reports updated case numbers weekly on Wednesdays.
Five northwest area counties were listed in KDHE's high incidence classification — Trego, Gove, Thomas, Sheridan and Lane.

Since reporting began, there have been 7,184 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 79 coronavirus-related deaths as of April 1. KDHE has also discontinued county-by-county death totals.
