The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Wednesday reported 61 new COVID-19 cases in Ellis County had been identified since Monday.
As of Wednesday morning, there were 27 COVID-19 inpatients at HaysMed, including 12 active cases and 15 recovering cases.

The KDHE reported on Friday that 51 percent of eligible Ellis County residents (age 5 and older) are fully vaccinated, noting the vaccination rate for the eligible Kansas population (5 and older) is approximately 63 percent. The county-by-county vaccination rate report will no longer be published, the KDHE announced Monday.
Since reporting began, there have been 6,866 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 79 coronavirus-related deaths.
