The Kansas Department of Transportation has started work on a bridge replacement project along U.S. 40 in Logan County.

The bridge is located approximately 6 miles west of Oakley. Initial work will primarily take place off the roadway with little to no impact to motorists. Traffic will later be reduced to one lane and controlled by a stoplight while the bridge is being paved, which is scheduled for spring 2023.

Construction is expected to be completed in May 2023, weather permitting.

Sporer Land Development of Oakley is the primary contractor with a total contract cost of approximately $1.85 million.
