KDHE: Ellis Co. COVID case counts revised down again

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Friday revised COVID-19 case numbers in Ellis County, dropping the total by one.

It was the second straight report that decreased the total cases in Ellis County. The last time there were no new cases in Ellis County previous was late July.

As of Friday morning, HaysMed reported two COVID inpatients, one active and one recovering.

On Wednesday, the Kansas Hospital Association reported 54 percent of eligible Ellis County residents (5 and older) are considered fully vaccinated — a figure that has remained constant for several weeks.

The Mayo Clinic reported that as of Friday, just more than 65 percent of all eligible Americans and about 61 percent of eligible Kansans are considered fully vaccinated.

Since reporting began, there have been 7,131 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 79 coronavirus-related deaths.
