The Union Pacific Railroad crossing on U.S. 183 (Vine Street) in Hays will close for reconstruction Feb. 28 through March 1. The crossing is located just north of the intersection of Eighth and Vine streets.
During the work, the Kansas Department of Transportation will close U.S. 183 in both directions at the crossing. Local traffic may continue to access the road up to the closure point. Through traffic will be detoured on I-70 and the U.S. 183 bypass.
The Union Pacific Railroad and their traffic control subcontractor will oversee the reconstruction of the crossing and traffic control signage.
