A year after the <a href="https://hayspost.com/posts/24e11ab6-f29c-4355-91e5-47e7511a74ce">Four County Fire</a>, northwest Kansas ranchers are still trying to recover.

Drought has slowed the regrowth of area pastures, resulting in ranchers being forced to cull their herds. 

Pasture recovery could take three to five years, but the economic and emotional recovery may take longer.
