Growers are concerned about the high prices and availability of chemicals for weed management in 2022! To help producers and service providers with this most challenging production situation. K-State Research & Extension Offices in northwest and north central Kansas have scheduled a series of Weed Management Update Meetings on Feb. 15 and 16.
February 15 – Colby, City Limits Convention Center, 2227 S. Range Ave., 9:00 am to noon, CST
Osborne, United Christian Church, 214 North 2nd Street, 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
February 16 – Hill City, Graham County 4-H Building Fairgrounds, 9:00 am to noon
Claflin, Community Center, 409 A Street, 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
Topics for the meeting will include revisiting residual herbicides in corn; non-chemical approaches to deal with herbicide shortages and prices; research update in application technology along with a question and answer session. Presenters for the program will include K-State Research and Extension weed management specialists, along with Randy Lloyd, technology research scientist with the University of Nebraska will share his research from the application technology lab at North Platte. Three Pest Management CCA credits and 3 commercial applicator CEU’s are available.
